About Continuing Education Units:

A Continuing Education Unit is a measure used in continuing education programs, particularly those required in a licensed profession. A CEU is not an academic credit; however, it is a nationally recognized method of quantifying accomplishment during professional development and training activities. Syracuse University CEUs are awarded in accordance with the Criteria, Guidelines and Required Practices of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training ( IACET).

One CEU equals ten contact hours of participation in organized continuing education/training experience under responsible, qualified direction and instruction. To understand whether or not these CEUs may be applied toward professional certification, licensing requirements, or other required training or continuing education hours, it is recommended that you consult your training department or licensing authority directly.

Upon request, a syllabus of the course will be provided to students or prospective students for submission to licensing authorities for determination of applicability. Again, pursuant to the guidelines of the IACET, Syracuse University awards three CEU's for the completion of this course. Click to return to footnoted text.
